Jerôme Aussibal vit dans le Vercors en France. Il est peintre, sculpteur, plasticien, acteur, musicien, équilibriste, funambule, guide de haute montagne.
"Mon parcours démarre dans la montagne, puis traverse les années vers la scène et le spectacle, et dans tout ça la sculpture fait un lien entre le chemin, le message et le mouvement. On pourrait dire un passage. Il a en fait révélé ce que je n’interrogeais pas. La matière s’est offerte et a écrit par mes gestes abandonnés des histoires et des personnages qui sont après maintes et maintes interrogations, questionnements, l’expression d’une mémoire inscrite en elle.
Une dimension de l’œuvre qui nous échappe car elle n’appartient qu‘à elle-même.
L’incarnation de la matière n’est pas un sujet autorisé,
il reste tabou après cinq siècle d’inquisition et un refus catégorique des académies de reconnaître en notre culture ses racines animistes, ses origines païennes.
Loin de concevoir mon travail comme une mission sacrée, il est pour moi un facteur de bien être où le geste me met en paix, il me recentre dans ma relation au monde et a la nature. Toute interprétation mystique n’appartiendra qu’à ceux qui ont besoin d’un dogme pour édifier leur foi. La réalité des mondes subtils est accessible à tous ceux qui refusent la sclérose de leurs sens, laissant au concret la possibilité de lui confier ses secrets.
Il y a dans tout ça l’expression d’un vivant multiple qui n’a pas fini de nous surprendre.
La multitude des champs possible tout aussi ouvert à l’investigation du progrès qu’a pu l’être la rationalité."

Jerôme Aussibal lives in the Vercors in France. He is a painter, sculptor, plastic artist, actor, musician, tightrope walker, high mountain guide.
"My path starts in the mountains, then crosses the years to the stage and the show, and in all this the sculpture makes a link between the path, the message and the movement. One could say a passage. It has in fact revealed what I was not questioning. The material has offered itself and has written, through my abandoned gestures, stories and characters that are, after many and many interrogations, questionings, the expression of a memory inscribed in it.
A dimension of the work which escapes us because it belongs only to itself.
The incarnation of the matter is not an authorized subject,
it remains taboo after five century of inquisition and a categorical refusal of the academies to recognize in our culture its animist roots, its pagan origins.
Far from conceiving my work as a sacred mission, it is for me a factor of well being where the gesture puts me in peace, it refocuses me in my relation to the world and to nature. Any mystical interpretation will belong only to those who need a dogma to build their faith. The reality of the subtle worlds is accessible to all those who refuse the sclerosis of their senses, leaving to the concrete the possibility of entrusting it with its secrets.
There is in all this the expression of a multiple living being that has not finished surprising us.
The multitude of the possible fields quite as opened to the investigation of the progress as the rationality could be it."
